Going To School

I'm at the kids' school every morning this week to help out with preparations for Teachers' Day this Friday. You see Ewan in the pix above practising for a song item. The boys of parent volunteers have the "privilege" to perform. A "privilege" that Ethan flatly rejected, lol. Both papa and I did our best to encourage him but he simply refused, saying that he hates to go on stage. Oh well, it can't be forced. Ewan who recently performed on stage on National Day celebrations, is fine with it. He calls his older brother "scaredy cat" ;-) While I have resigned to this fact, my friend whose son is Ethan's classmate, told me she will ask her son to persuade Ethan. I told her Good Luck, lol. But Ethan isn't the only one. Many mums told me their son gave them the over-my-dead-body-look when told of the song item, hahaha.

I'll be busy running around this Friday, but I hope I will be able to take some pix to share with you. Here are the lyrics of the song the boys are dedicating to their teachers. (I can't find a MP3 or youtube version, just imagine a catchy tune)

Every Good & Perfect Gift
Brendon Clancy

Every good and perfect gift
Comes down from heaven above
Every good and perfect gift from above

From the Father of Lights
With whom there's no changing
From the Father of Lights
Who’s always the same

On a lighter note, I tried laksa at the school canteen this morning. Not bad, $1.20 only. And look at this:

If I'm in P6 this year, I don't think I would like the constant reminder every morning during assembly that PSLE is approaching. My fren jokingly said that the number on the banner is inversely proportionate to your blood pressure, lol
