Again

When i picked my boys yesterday from school, i found a crowd of parents outside the school gate instead of inside it as was previously allowed. Swine flu lor. i mean the prevention of it. All programmes by the Parents' Support Group are suspended too. i mean one of us could bring the flu in and infect the kids and teachers mah. So i'm here blogging coz my reading duties are cancelled, lol

My boys were too young to remember the Sars period. Ethan was in kindergarten then and school was suspended for em, a week or 2? i also can't remember, lol. As i'm a stayhome mum, it didn't cause too much inconvenience. My mum had to stay with my sister to mind her 3 kids as she couldn't take so many days of leave. i remember reading that school kids were out in the malls and arcades which of course defeats the purpose of preventing the spread of Sars. i hope we wouldn't reach that stage this time round. Mid year exams are round the corner followed by June hols. It would be a pity to spend June hols at home.

But we'll bounce back lah. Just like the old Aware Exco or the new old exco now or isit the old new exco? Anyway, you know what i mean. i don't have anything new to add to whatever has been said of the saga. But i do know one of the new exco members (aiyah, so confusing, i'll call them the newest exco). She was a year my senior in secondary school, in school band as well. Back then, she stood out as a leader and a funny one at that. Our paths crossed in the uni days. Much later, i read about her in the papers often. She is a youth worker in the Buddhist association. i think her passion and commitment to the society alone speaks louder than all those coup women. Surely there are more proper and acceptable channels to right a perceived wrong.

That said, i righted or rather tried to right a wrong sometime back. i saw a teenager wiping his nose with a tissue paper and throwing the tissue paper away onto the shrub. i told him to pick it up and got nothing but rudeness and profanity. i shot an email to the school principal and got a reply that he will deal with the boy. Some of you joked about my safety. Well, i haven't run into him since. if i do, maybe i should just ask him to watch this :)
