Use It

Got one email today about a poem a lady wrote when she found out that she was dying from cancer. One line says

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I'm reminded of a funny story a friend told of his mother who was given a foot massage thingy by her children. She treasured the gift so much that she hardly used it. When it refused to work once, she took it to the shop and complained that there is no reason why the item should break down since she hardly used it. To which the salesperson replied that THAT is precisely the reason why the item broke down - from lack of use.

Some time back, we found a strip of whale stickers which the Significant Other kept since he was a teenager. Ya it is very cute I agree but it is no longer sticky, so what's the use now? Sometimes when he sees Ewan pasting stickers all over his books and stuff, he will say it's wasteful. I will then retort that's what stickers are for and not so discreetly remind him of that strip of whales.

Lest he accuses me of double standards, please excuse me, I'd better go through the storage now to find my sculpted candles and burn them.
