Ewan was helping me string the washed clothes into the bamboo pole when he said something like those were his two pants. So, the "English" teacher in me who never misses a teaching opportunity, corrected him and said You mean two pairs of pants. I proceeded to explain that you use a pair to describe things that come in twos. Then we took turns to name things like scissors, glasses and chopsticks. At his turn, Ewan said Buttocks! and when my eyes rolled, he quickly defended his answer, It comes in pairs what, left cheek and right cheek.
Yeah right. Some cheek ;-)
