There were other structure to the right -

which couldn't fit into the pix
Ethan returns home from scouts' camp today.
He didn't want to sign up initially because he has never stayed away from home. But the scout master/leader/trooper/whatever said he can go home in the night and return the next day to continue the camp activities.
Ethan enjoyed himself very much on the first day and decided to stay the second night.
This is a combined camp with the older scouts of the secondary school next door (affliated to Ethan's school). The scouts were divided into 4 petrols and each has scouts ranging from Primary One to Secondary 3.
Last night was camp fire night. I brought Ewan along. Unfortunately papa was at work. The petrols sang and presented skits. Awards were given to the best cub scout, best recruit, best etc. Ethan said that he took his only shower of the day at about 11pm (eeeew) and slept at about 1 am, was yakking away with his camp mates about movies.
When i picked him up this afternoon, he declared he will stay for both nights at next year's camp. The highlight for him was all the hard work involved in pitching tents and cooking. He was mighty impressed by all the big scout gor gors. Papa who was a cub scout himself shared his treasured memories with Ethan and even dug out an old school magazine with a photo of him at scouts' camp!
We decided to go camping this December holidays. We will all rough it out, like cub scouts for a start ;-)
