Ewan Learns To Ride

Ewan learned to ride a two-wheeler 2 afternoons ago. It's the same bike on which Ethan learned to ride about 3 years ago. We actually found this bike at the dump and the Significant Other tinkled with it to give it a new lease of life.

Funny thing about bike riding. You can give (or yell) all the instructions you want "Look ahead, don't look down, straighten your back, pedal, don't stop, yadda, yadda, yadda..". But really, the kid has to get it himself.

Ewan got it in about half an hour (thank goodness, my poor back). Ethan and I made it fun for Ewan like encouraging him to ride towards the target (Ethan holding a ball) and shouting "Good job, nice try!" Of course he fell many times and oscillated between feeling discouraged and determined. But he finally did it!
