We woke up to bad news. There was a landslide the night before, destroying part of the long coastal highway which we need to travel along that day. Long story short, we waited till the road was repaired. As a result, we missed the Taroko National Park (no time, such a pity) and instead were stuck at a place selling jewelery made from their famed natural gemstones; touring their marble factory by bus was just cursory (so you know they really want to sell you their jewelery especially cat's eye, only). We took pictures outside instead :) Also celebrating their great gemstones what, lol

| Dog = The loyal type, obviously |

| Snake = Wealth (actually GIVING wealth) |

| Rabbit = auspicious (Ethan will be 12 next year!!!) |

| This is just Ewan horsing around |
Since we couldn't go to Taroko National Park, the tour guide asked the driver to stop the bus to let us take pictures of the sea - it's Pacific Ocean - some consolation :( Actually, we are thankful that we weren't stuck in the jam in the midst of the landslide. Last year, a tour bus plunged down the cliffs into the sea because of it.
We got a scare at one point where the bus stopped because of a string of vehicles in front of us. The tour guide told us to 苦中作乐 since there was nothing we can do anyway. We went down the bus to take some pictures and thankfully, we waited only for 10 minutes before the bus could move again.

| This young guy (with his mum) in our tour looks so much like my nephew no.2 :) |
The temperature plunged today. By the time we reached the farm for the farm stay, it was dark and freezing (8 degrees). Wasn't any comfort when we were told that the temperature indoors was higher at 14 degrees, lol. It was DIY BBQ dinner, with the BBQ part OUTDOORS, hahahahaha. Oh well,苦中作乐 lor. After dinner, we DIY a sky lantern and the kids did leaf printing.
 |
| It was drizzling when we went out to light the lantern, brrrrrrrr |
 |
| Leaf printing was earlier demonstrated, the boys did theirs on the handkerchiefs given |
 |
| Look closely, you can see they have printed a dragonfly :) |
It was just as cold the next morning, only a few brave souls woke up at 6am to watch the sunrise. Since you see no sunrise picture here, i wasn't one of those brave souls, lol. There are many more interesting activities to be done at this farm. i wish we had more time here :(
We have gone around Taiwan by now and were heading back to Taipei. Fortunately, contrary to what we were told, the temperature was more bearable in Taipei for us to enjoy our very last leg of the tour before returning home.
