Celebrate!: Taiwan Day 4 (15 Dec) 台东/鹿野溪温泉/小熊度假村

The fruit you see here is Taiwan's version of ang mo liu lian called 释加. It's the sweet version of our soursop, quite a nice taste. All along the road you'll see the short fruit trees and small shops like the one we visited where we can buy the fruit or the products like biscuits (释加饼). The shop we visited is called 阿美 :)

After this, we had great fun at another outdoor hot spring 鹿野溪温泉. By this time, we were getting familiar with each other in the tour group and the hot spring was just like a fun place for everybody, young and old. There are 3 pools, cold, warm and hot (about 43 degrees). There are also couple rooms to rent if you want privacy. But i think only one family opted for that. Our boys wanted the outdoors once they saw the tiny rooms, lol. i tried the hottest pool, super shiok, but my kids said i look like a lobster when i emerged, lol. There were only 3 elderly men when we were there for an hour. Another tour group came when we were sipping hot green tea before boarding the bus. So, perfect timing :)

We spent the night at Master Bear Resort (小熊度假村) and had a very fun night there.

It was still bright when we reached there. But barely after we checked into our rooms, it turned dark

It's a small room with 2 queen sized beds. We are on the first floor.

After dinner, we played with firecrackers as well as a flying toy we bought from home as a surprise for our boys. The weather was nice and cooling. The next morning was a different story though, it turned so cold. Anyway, the resort runs activities like quizzes, mass dancing and lighting the 天灯 or sky lantern. These activities brought the group closer. A truly magical night which ended with a not bad fireworks display :)
