Down By The Sea

The toy on the left started it all. The boys usually get a toy as a reward/encouragement from their swimming coach. Yesterday evening while walking home after the swimming lesson, the boys were talking about how nice it would be to try this shovel on real sand. And i said "Why not? Let's go to the beach tomorrow!" The surprise on their faces is priceless.

So this morning we took a bus to Changi Beach. The boys had their beach toys (it's really worthwhile to get a set of beach toys - it lasts forever ;-) ours is as old as Ethan and still functional) and I have my newspapers and book and a packet of fried carrot cake, tao pao from the nearby Changi Village Hawker Centre.
It never fails to amaze me how kids never have an idle moment at the beach. Ewan tried digging like a mole (imitating one of the cartoon characters) and get this, burying himself with sand. When he realised he couldn't do this all by himself, he called for Ethan to help. Of course Ethan had a great time shovelling sand onto his younger brother. Ethan on the other hand liked building sand castles and digging moats. He made numerous trips to the sea to fetch water in his bucket to fill his moat.

My WoW moment was when i caught them chilling out side by side each other :-) never mind the carrot cake ;-)
