Tears No. 1
Yesterday was the last session of the marital workshop that I co-facilitated. There were tears aplenty when marital vows were taken again. Nearly all the wives were struggling to finish their vows because they were so overcome with emotion. The husbands on the other hand were mainly "cool" although one or 2 also had to stop at mid-sentence to collect themselves. It is already not easy to be married (I can attest to the ups and downs) but I salute these couples that I met at the workshop - they have to work harder than many of us to keep the marriage going. Because you see, when the workshop ended, the couples had to reluctantly say good-bye as it was time for the men to return to their cell.
Tears No. 2
Our church recently sent a mission team comprising mainly youths to Cambodia to reach out to the street kids there. The team members presented their work and reflection this morning. One or 2 (er yes, the girls) fought back tears as they recalled how much these love-deprived Cambodian kids have blessed them.
Tears No. 3
I witnessed the baptism of my nephew this afternoon. It moved me beyond words. I can't write more but let's just say I came away with hope and peace. Many ties were revisited. Many fond memories were celebrated.
Needless to say, i am thankful for the invention of tissue paper. But most of all, I'm thankful to the all compassionate God who gave me the gift of feeling.
