Downtown Fun

The Significant Other and i thought it would be a good idea to reward the kids after their mid- year exams. We had tickets to the May Day Family Fiesta at Downtown East and invited our boys' best friend Natty along.

Now i think 10,000 people (or more) congregating at Downtown East is really not a good idea afterall, lol. We had planned to start our day with a movie, then go Wild Wild Wet. But alas, many others had the same idea as well. The queues to exchange movie tickets were already from SG to China when we reached there 10 minutes before the official starting time of the Fiesta. There were 3 movies: Shrek, Robin Hood and The Last Song. We are talking about kids right, so had wanted to watch Shrek but that queue was from SG to USA, so we settled for Robin Hood. i enjoyed the movie very much but half the time was crossing my fingers no RA content, lol

Anyway, after the movie we had lunch and had wanted to spend the rest of the time at Wild Wild Wet when it started to drizzle. So we yes Q again for another game first. i forgot what the game is called, it's another shooting game. i took some pics here. The boys complained that the guns were lousy, kena hang all the time, lol.

By this time, i have no more energy left for Wild Wild Wet. The boys went in first. The Significant Other and i went to the Escape Theme Park, we literally walked ONE round, looked at the queue and left. We settled for a yogurt treat in the air-conditioned mall to refresh the old bodies, lol.

Meanwhile, the boys at the Wild Wild Wet didn't even bother to Q for any rides. The only way to get on rides was to practise zen. So the boys settled for the Shiok River and the Tsunami and the kiddy stuff. All 3 of them got shoved one time or another by other people and got minor abrasions on their knees or toes. They also complained that they couldn't get any floats cos people are hoarding them, not returning them after use. Sigh, i myself scolded a bunch of foreign kids for cutting Q.

Despite the crowd and the ugly behaviour exhibited, the boys told us they enjoyed themselves. For the Significant Other and myself, that is sufficient.
