School's Out

That's the cover of the boys' annual school magazine.

Indeed, the theme summed it all for the school year which has just ended.

While the kids' school is not among the top where academic results are concerned, i'm grateful among many things, that God is central to their school life and that they are valued for who they are by their teachers.

Excelling in school is important, but just as important is the knowledge that they are God's creation and that God has given them gifts to be used to His glory.

There are hits and misses for me as far as guiding them in their school work is concerned. In the past year, sometimes i thought many things could be done and ended up not achieving what i've set out to do. Sometimes it was the opposite, not doing what should have been done. Come next year, it's probably going to be more challenging since i'm likely to be involved in some work projects. The Singaporean parent in me has already mapped out the areas to work on with each of my boys next year. But i must admit i haven't committed these plans to God though. School's out and i seem to be busier than when school's in :) It's no excuse i suppose...

i do have many things to reflect on... but come what may next year,

With God, All Things are Possible
