A Promise is A Promise

I got to know a 80-plus cleaner who sweeps up the leaves at the park in which i jog. Usually its a hi and bye when i jog past or at most, we talk about the weather, lol. But last week, i stopped and asked how he was. He told me he was feeling frustrated to be assigned more areas in this park as age is catching up on him. He then started to share about his previous job in which he was commended for returning a bag containing US$20,000/-. He repeated told me that he wasn't lying and that he will show me proofs the following week, even though i told him i believe his every word, lol

Yesterday, he proudly whipped out a laminated newsletter from his ex-company which published a letter of commendation of his honest act. He also showed me the police statement which documented the total amount found in the bag. Of course i heaped praises on his honesty lah. But hoh, it led to him telling me all the other things he found and returned, like passports, handphones, bags, books, etc, lol. It's ok for me of course. It's always a blessing when someone shares with me. What's more, this elderly uncle kept his promise to a stranger. Now, that's a WoW.
