Finally

Ethan had been sick for 5 days since last Wednesday. The fever just refused to go away. It didn't help that someone next block had dengue fever. We brought him to the doc's but the doc said that the fever is most likely caused by his cough. He couldn't eat and threw up his food and medicine. One mum I met on the way to school yesterday commented that Ethan has lost so much weight. We noticed that the 3rd day into the sickness and Ewan actually suggested that papa could try the same method to lose weight ;-) All the same, we are very thankful that he has finally recovered.

I missed cell last Thursday because Ethan was ill. I was so looking forward to it because we are finally finishing a 10-week long (and tedious) study on King David. Though I wasn't present, I am thankful for Week 10's focus which applies to all of us:

King David passed on his throne to Solomon. To the young and inexperienced Solomon, King David gave the following directive:
And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him,he will reject you forever. (1 Chronicles 28:9)
To God, King David prayed:
And give my son Solomon the wholehearted devotion to keep your commands, requirements and decrees. I Chronicles 29:9a

The church magazine that I'm working on is also finally done. Last Sunday, we printed a batch of 40 copies and this Sunday we will continue with the rest. This is my 7th issue as editor. It hasn't become easier though - I still struggle with each editorial. This time round, I was distracted by some issues but I'm really thankful that God delivered me. I thought the piece could have been better but a sister who read it, emailed me favourable comments. It's really not about me or my writing but the message God wants to be written.

This week is a new beginning. I finally can blog again ;-)
