I missed cell last Thursday because Ethan was ill. I was so looking forward to it because we are finally finishing a 10-week long (and tedious) study on King David. Though I wasn't present, I am thankful for Week 10's focus which applies to all of us:
King David passed on his throne to Solomon. To the young and inexperienced Solomon, King David gave the following directive:
And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him,he will reject you forever. (1 Chronicles 28:9)To God, King David prayed:
And give my son Solomon the wholehearted devotion to keep your commands, requirements and decrees. I Chronicles 29:9a
The church magazine that I'm working on is also finally done. Last Sunday, we printed a batch of 40 copies and this Sunday we will continue with the rest. This is my 7th issue as editor. It hasn't become easier though - I still struggle with each editorial. This time round, I was distracted by some issues but I'm really thankful that God delivered me. I thought the piece could have been better but a sister who read it, emailed me favourable comments. It's really not about me or my writing but the message God wants to be written.
This week is a new beginning. I finally can blog again ;-)
