Question & Answer

Last night, I was reading to the boys the story of Abraham instructing his chief servant to look for a godly wife for his son Issac. When the servant came to the town of Nahor, he prayed that God will grant him success in this mission:

May it be that when I say to the girl 'Please let down your jar that I may have a drink', and she says,'Drink and I'll water your camels too' - let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Issac.

There are questions listed at the end of each story in the book. These questions are usually a mixture of the straightforward and the thinking-required kinds. The boys like to take turns to answer the questions. One of the questions that followed last night's story was - Why did the servant pray? To which Ewan answered - Because he is lazy. He wants God to do the job for him.

I couldn't stop laughing. Oh well, i don't know if my "correct" answer later on had made any impact on Ewan or not, but I think we are all guilty one time or another of being lazy, preferring to let God do the task.
