Bliss

The boys couldn't wait to open their Christmas presents in the morning. But I reminded them that they could only do so after breakfast. Papa had to work overnight and we had planned to have breakfast at the small mall nearby when he returns home this morning. The boys who were up early were very excited. I finally allowed them to take a peek at the presents my brother gave them when they grew restless waiting for papa.

We had roti prata and nasi lemak for breakfast. Ethan had learnt to eat curry in this same stall about a month ago when the stall was newly opened. After breakfast, we went to the supermarket for our weekly grocery shopping but the boys couldn't wait to get home. They knew that we had prepared for them a treasure hunt for their Christmas presents from us. This year, we decided that the 2 sets of toys are for them to share, no individual gifts. Clever hoh, they won't need to think that the other person got a better deal.

The boys zipped through the rooms looking for clues. Ethan was fast and Ewan felt a little lost. But it was fun following them around and sometimes playfully refusing to help.

For the rest of the afternoon, papa helped to fix up the toy. No joke, it took him at least 4 hours. In the meantime, the boys sometimes helped to pass him the pieces he needed, most of the time playing with the other gifts from their uncle and aunties. I read to them a few chapters from Matilda by Roald Dahl, continuing where I left off last night. We had a great laugh over the tyranny of Miss Trunchbull.

Papa finally finished the job late afternoon. The boys had a blasting time with the new toy; papa opted for some real action in front of his laptop and I prepared dinner. No turkey, I roasted a chicken. No white christmas, but the cool and wet weather came close enough.

Oh, I've also started reading my new book (remember my Christmas gift to myself?). A bliss..

Thank you everybody for your gifts!
Blessed Christmas to you too!
