A Vacation

Guess where we went for a holiday recently? Yep, a vacation right here in Singapore. And this is not the first time we checked into Changi Village Hotel. One year ago, we were here too. I like Changi V - not a single tall building in sight. I love the food too - all within easy walking distance from the hotel. It was a challenge though to find a clean spot at the beach but the kids loved it nonetheless. While the young ones played at the beach, the not so young ones indulged in a dim sum picnic.
We took long walks along the beach. There were lots of fish and crabs in the shallower waters at the ferry terminal. It was kinda nice to see people engaging in "slow" activities like fishing, crabbing or just sitting around and chatting. Things seemed to move slower here in Changi.

And then there is the roof-top swimming pool. You can look out at the beach from here. A year ago at this pool, Ethan and Ewan couldn't swim yet - they were either wading in the "baby" pools or clinging to our backs. One year later, they were enjoying themselves silly swimming from one end to the other.
We even managed to slip in a movie in Tampines during this short vacation. All in all, a relaxing vacation at our own "backyard".
