Week Three

Failure and success.

Tasted both this week :)

Started out on Monday morning with the goal of doing 21km. Mentally - full of enthusiasm. Physically - i was wearing a new pair of state-of-the-art running socks (like the above, except that for mine, the arch support band is RED instead of grey). What could go wrong wor? But, sigh, by the time i hit 10K, no matter what i tell myself, i just couldn't continue. The new socks couldn't save me. Mind and body were unanimous in their decision - STOP LAH, lol. i think this was what runners called "hitting the wall". i was disappointed of course but wasn't that hard on myself. After all, i blamed it solely on the hot sun :)

This morning i tried again. i told myself i need to start before 7am so as to avoid the hot sun later in the day. i did, but only a mere 15 minutes before 7. But i needn't worry cos today there was no sun. There was RAIN instead, lol. i ran through an hour of drizzle and at my last 200m, it POURED. Great timing :)

i finally did a half marathon distance of 21 km at 2:37. With that, i can happily skip a weekend run and go for a spa instead during the upcoming church camp in Seremban :)
