Today is Saturday. We are at Ikebukuro (池袋). Here you see the boys and I in front of a Toyota F1 racer. This is found in Toyota Auto Salon Amlux Tokyo - which displays all things Toyota what else, lol.
About 70 Toyota models are displayed here, along with activities like a go on their simulators.
Here Ethan is trying out a Safety Simulator (that's what it's named).
Saying goodbye to this place, we proceeded to the adjacent building which houses Tokyu Hands, a large handicraft store, the significant other's kind of place. I was sitting down on a bench when an elderly man caught me yawning and said, "Sleepy?". I was so surprised to hear English, lol. We talked and I found out that he is actually Hawaiian, here with his wife and son to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary. Sweet. When Ewan joined us, he gave Ewan a newly minted USA 25c coin. When Ethan came by later, he gave him an old 50c coin so that they won't fight. Ewan calls his coin the lucky penny ;-)
Then we made our way to Sunshine City, one of Tokyo's oldest shopping malls. Ethan wanted to visit the aquarium after seeing it in one of the brochures we picked up on the first day. It does look small the outside. Admission ticket is not cheap, so the significant other stayed out while i brought the kids in. The above pic is an outdoor show. It was really cold outside.
There's a small (and smelly) zoo too.
Something about penguins just make them a favourite with kids and adults alike.
The aquarium is indeed smaller than those we've visited in other cities. Nothing spectacular lah. But this is cute...
A worm-like creature that "stands" upright and when a fish swims by, they retreat quickly down into the sand. Like this...
I took a fancy on the frogs there. Just enjoy the selection here ;-)
When we returned to the hotel, Chin Boo called to say that tomorrow's weather is just right for river boating. Yeah, looking forward to be out in the nature!
