i Did It Too
The 16km run that i've been training for the past 2 months is finally starting. The flag off was 6:50am for the women, 5 minutes after the men's. We arrived there at about 6:30am. There was a mass warming-up session led by some instructors of some fitness club :)
It had been a good run. During my training, i did 16km 3 times but the best timing is 2:20. So i told the significant other to expect me to return with that kind of timing. One fear i had before the run was that i was so slow that i have nobody in front to lead the way. i gave up studying the route even though it was advised, lol. However, during the actual run, there were always people in front of me. In fact, most of the runners could keep to the pace for the entire route. So when i saw the 14km mark and i was like under 2 hours, i thought wow not bad and ran even faster towards the end. Credit must be given to my significant other who had more faith in me than i had in myself. He told me he started looking out for me at the finishing area 1 and a half hours after i started :) When the Finish sign was within sight, it was a great encouragement to see Fai and Ewan there cheering me on :) My timing: 1:57.
Ya, that is the finisher's medal :) Ewan is carrying the goodie bag for runners who have completed the run. There is a carnival there too. Ewan spent his time at the bouncing castle.
