The boys were home for the past week. i should like to think that i'm not the only homemaker to rejoice that tomorrow school starts again, lol.
Monday being a public holiday, Tuesday to Friday being PSLE Marking Days. The school piled them with homework in preparation for the coming final year exams later this week.
First, must compRain that we've got to print the homework ourselves. The school posted the homework by class at the school's website, under the heading Home Based Learning. By the time we finished printing Day 1 of ONE subject for ONE of my boys, i was like wondering (a mild term) why i have to do this. Can't the school simply print the homework and give it out to the boys to take home? Homework mah, not home- printed-work. Anyway, i printed all, lol.
Second, the homework somewhat gets in the way of our own revision plans. Much as i like to revise certain things first, we know the top priority is to complete the school's homework. This is especially so for Chinese. i wanted the boys to revise the earlier chapters first and slowly build up to exam time, but all their homework is based on the latest chapters.
Lastly, something got to give lah. i find it simply impossible to give both the boys the same kind of attention. i'm coaching Ewan more cos he is more playful. Don't know if it's a good arrangement or not??
Chatted with a friend this morning and she already has plans for her kid to finish all the unfinished assessment papers this holiday cos according to her, it is important to have a strong foundation. Another friend is already teaching Sec 1 Math to her child who has JUST finished PSLE. *Shudder* lol. i once had such "intentions" but when school hols hit, both mama and kids wouldn't touch those assessment papers with a 10-foot pole, LOL
Can't wait for exams to be over :)
