Osmosis

When i was very little (under 7 i think), i used to accompany my mum to her mahjong sessions. If there were other small kids around, we would be occupying ourselves with toys and games. If not, i usually sat beside my mum and observed the game. My mum didn't talk to me anything about the game. i just knew how the game works over time. Osmosis, lol. When i grew up, i had friends who simply couldn't understand how mahjong works even AFTER explanation.

Fast forward. My boys SEE me in Facebook and when i recently got them an account, they took it like a duck to water. Especially Ewan who knows how to install a new game by visiting a fren's profile, upload profile pix as well as post status updates, lol. Here are some examples which he posted on the first day:

HO HO HO. I AM NEW.

THIS IS MY FIRST DAY (wave)

i have nothing on my mind

ha ha ha i am swinging

As for Ethan, he is already asking me if he can play Mafia Wars cos his classmates are playing. The Significant Other flatly refuses to give him permission, lol.

Oh well, i think i need to go beyond what was funny here and reflect on the challenges of the internet for parents and young children. AFTER i finish blogging.
